Today’s podcast was recorded at our recent event A Guide To Pride, Christian Perspectives. We were joined by Sara Gillingham, Lucy Gorman and Luke Dowding who each shared their own experiences of organising a Christian presence at Pride events.

Sara Gillingham is a member of the Church of England, and campaigner for better pastoral care and safeguarding for people born intersex. Sara helped organise the first-ever intersex section in the Pride in London march.

Lucy Gorman works for ITV, is a member of Hull LGBT Christian Fellowship and General Synod for the York diocese.

Luke Dowding is National Coordinator for Christians at Pride, Co-Director of Affirm (Baptists Together for LGBT+ Inclusion), and trainer/facilitator for inclusion in churches both in the UK and abroad. Luke also has a degree in Theology from Spurgeon’s College and is completing his Masters in Biblical Studies at King’s College, part-time.

We were also joined by Revd. Anthea Colledge, Anglican Chaplain, Universities’ Chaplaincy in Leeds & Lead Chaplain, University of Leeds, who spoke about her research into why Christians attend Pride and her own experiences of Pride events, which you can listen to here.
