Sacrament by Artist

Sacrament by Artist – Shaeron Caton Rose exhibited at Leeds Church Institute

The prints were made during Shaeron’s residency in a monastic community to represent their faith life and community. Using Albrecht Durer’s ‘Praying Hands’ sketched in the fifteenth century as her initial inspiration, she invited each of the brethren to sit for half an hour with her whilst she drew their hands in a representation of prayer.

LCI have four of these prints in their Leeds City offices and when exhibited together, the fourteen pieces have a presence as though the community is sitting there with the viewer, praying.
