Join us to celebrate our Queen and her long life over a scrumptious tea; as we admire her dedication to duty, clear purpose, humour and perseverance, (founded in no small part on her Christian faith), we will also reflect on our own journeys and the opportunities and joys open to us in later life.
This is a partnership event organised by Leeds Church Institute and Growing Old Grace-fully.
Growing Old Grace-fully is a small Catholic charity with the mission that that older people experience spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing in positive and inclusive parish communities (especially across the Catholic Diocese of Leeds).
Leeds Church Institute is a faith based, charitable organisation which works through publications, events and social media to advance and deliver on its values and mission and be a progressive agent of change for the benefit of all in Leeds.
All attendees of the Jubilee Tea Party will receive a copy of the book, Our Faithful Queen which is full of photos and includes rarely-seen prayers from a book of devotions written for the Queen to use from 1 May to 2 June 1953 – her Coronation Day. The prayers are written by the former Archbishop of Canterbury, Geoffrey Fisher and helps us to appreciate and understand the Queen’s Christian faith.
It is essential that you book your place to enable us to plan for the catering and seating arrangements, thank you.
