It felt like a Monty Python event… and now for something completely different! With the help of the inimitable Rev Kate Bottley, a new network was launched; “Leeds Christians in Education”. Leeds Church Institute treated educational workers, paid and voluntary, to an evening at Weetwood Hall Conference Centre with a speaker whose talk was more stand up than a sermon. “I use my twitter account like a normal person… because that is what God has called me to be.” It was an evening of laughter and a few tears, of inspiration and connection. One participant reflected “I felt free to be who I have been called to be!”. People came from across the city and beyond and went away feeling affirmed and lighter, many with new contacts and looking forward to our next network meeting in January over a hot dinner.
You can listen to Kate’s talk below, by searching for LCI in your podcast app of choice or by clicking here and there is a YouTube video of some of the talk highlights.
