On behalf of the Council (Board of Trustees) I would like to update you on developments at LCI.
Recruitment for a successor to Dr Helen Reid, as Director of LCI, continues to be a priority. We are working towards advertising the post in September, with our current focus on the final recruitment pack.
We have also recently said huge thanks and goodbyes to Anna Bland and Trish Sandbach, whose trustee terms of office have come to an end; and whilst we have welcomed Jonathan Chesterman as a trustee, we are still open to expressions of interest from anyone who would like to serve LCI as a trustee on the Council. We recently celebrated the annual Schools of Sanctuary Awards Ceremony, which was a joyous event attended by the Lord Mayor of Leeds. We would like to thank Katherine Hogg for her work encouraging Schools of Sanctuary, now that her contract has come to an end. LCI is committed to supporting this project in new ways going forward.
The Council is very grateful to the staff team at LCI for their commitment to maintain the work of the organisation. In 2023 we set out together on a five-year plan of work and we are jointly planning the next steps of our journey, ahead of the appointment of a new Chief Officer.
