In UK society we need to know more about Muslims because public opinion, especially the media, problematises Muslims. If you didn’t know any Muslims personally and only knew what you heard on the news, you would have a distorted and unhelpful picture. We need facts and analysis to better understand the role and influence of race, class, ethnicity and culture in society. Better understanding will lead to a healthier, happier and more creative society.
